The global field of FIBA and Asian Games became an opportunity for Philippine athletes to showcase their potentials and abilities, proving their invincibility to represent the Philippines.

Gilas Pilipinas, the Philippines’ representative for Men’s Basketball, has gone a long way to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics. This was a great leap after the team experienced a devastating loss during the FIBA Basketball World Cup.

The Gilas Pilipinas had gone home with a standing of 1-4 after losses to Dominican Republic (87-81), South Sudan (87-68), Angola (80-70), and Italy (90-83) and a win against China (96-75).

Afterwards, the Philippines showcased once again what the Filipino athletes got in the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China from September 23 to October 8.

The PH National Team brought home 4 gold, 2 silver, and 12 bronze medals from the athletes of Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Cycling BMX Racing, Ju-jiutsu, Karate, Sepak Takraw, Taekwondo, Tennis, Weightlifting and Wushu.

The collegiate national competition NSCUAA (National State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association / National SCUAA) held in Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), after a 3-year hiatus, also sets the field for its anticipated comeback.
