BulSU Intramurals: Ready to Ignite Sportsmanship

Rhealyn Mirandilla, a high jump relay gold medalist, opened the BulSU Intramurals 2023 ceremony by torching the light.

Bulacan State University Intramurals are finally back, which aim to build sportsmanship in every BulSUans with the theme "Balik Saya, Buong Sigla, sa Bagong Simula."

The three years of waiting due to the COVID-19 pandemic were finally over as BulSU held the opening ceremony on October 16, Monday, featuring different games and events as the main campus, along with its extension campus, collaborated with each other.

The intramural kick-off was first introduced by the unwavering support of BulSUans and college departments through their creative banners, and cheers were felt by the student athletes in the parade.

And to formally open Intramurals 2023, the torch lightning was used to give lights, symbolizing the unity of BulSUans.

Followed by the banner raising of every dean, secretary, and sports coordinator of every department.

However, despite the significance of the event, the undeniable truth was seen and felt by the student publication and BulSUans, where the capacity to enter the venue was limited due to the large capacity of BulSUans as both main and external were combined in that event place. But this is not a basis for concluding that it is not successful.

In a statement by Benedicto Jr., a student from the Bachelor of Secondary Education, he pointed out that with the help of Intramurals 2023, it is a great way to refresh his mind, especially after taking the midterm exam that makes him exhausted after focusing on studying the variety of lessons in order to answer his exam.

He also added that without this kind of event, they will not become familiar with those sports that they don't know how to play, such as archery and taekwondo.

In this digital era where everyone is focusing on technology, Bulacan State University intramurals will help everyone become familiar with the sports they are not familiar with. Aside from that, intramurals cater to the needs of every BulSUan to engage themselves in active movement for their body.

Meanwhile, the official publication of BulSU posted a schedule of events where the 5-day university Intramurals, was full of extra challenges as BulSUans welcomed the opportunity to engage in and be aware of sports and recreational activities.

To finally conclude the opening ceremony, BulSU President Dr. Teody C. San Andres, along with the basketball team from external campuses, demonstrated the ball-throwing as intramurals 2023 have finally returned.

This will keep a light burning in chasing the star as the BulSUans wave their proud colors of their department. And the advent of sportsmanship, camaraderie, and friendships that were built on Bulacan State University Intramurals.
