Students' stress reliever after the Midterms Examination

Cristine Camacho

October 22, 2023 The students of Bulacan State University Main Campus have been studying diligently for their midterms examination this October 9-14.

Before conducting the long awaited celebration of Intramurals with the theme "Balik saya, Buong sigla, Sa bagong simula", let's take a look at how the students prepared for their upcoming tests.

One look inside public jeepneys and you'll see books, notebooks, reviewers and flashcards being stared at intently. Fingers counting and closed eyes to memorize data and information.

Cafe's were crowded with quiet whispers of different jargons and formulas. Even at night, dorms have a soft light turned on for late night reviewing.

Some students spent their nights studying at the E-Library until sunrise. Taking advantage of the fact that students are allowed to sleep there during midterms, the relaxation room was mostly filled with 1st and 2nd year students.

The hallways are a sea of heads bunched together looking at pieces of paper, laptops with powerpoint presentations and students helping each other go through questions.

After a month of vigilantly studying came the BSU intramurals. Various sports activities were waiting for the students to be played and enjoyed.

At October 16, the opening ceremony for BSU Palarong Pamantasan 2023 commenced led by our University President, Dr. Teody C. San Andres.

Student athletes marched with their banners raised and proud to represent their respective colleges.

Volleyball, Beach Volleyball, Basketball, Table Tennis, Badminton, Taekwondo, and Archery are one of the sports highlighted in the 5-day event.

These games were held inside and outside the campus. At the BSU Activity Center, Valencia hall, designated rooms at different colleges, online for E-sports, and at Waltermart.

Of course, organizations and colleges didn't want to miss out and participated through their booths such as photobooths, accessories stands, and delicious snack stands.

Students roamed the campus grounds and participated in games, challenges, and other activities that were offered. The smile on their faces while eating and having a great time bonding with friends were evident during the celebration.

The adrenaline rush of sweating and giving your best to beat your opponent and show your strength, cheering for your team and wishing them the best for their game definitely gave the students a time to just linger in the moment and momentarily forget about the pressure and the stress they went through after the Midterms Examination.
