Holding their placards with different calls in connection with the current social issues in the country, the Alpha Phi Omega-Epsilon Kappa Chapter once again held its annual ritual dance of the brave, today, December 14, at the Bulacan State University grounds.
With the theme "Hubad na Reyalidad", the advocates ran around the campus, carrying a deeper societal message particularly to students who witnessed the 15th freedom run of the sorority, chanting the words "Hindi kami bulag, sa hubad na reyalidad."
The freedom run is also to honor the association's 98th international founding anniversary on December 16.
"Ang purpose talaga ng freedom run ay social awareness. It is part of our duty to give our insights sa mga... ah current social issues, it can be national or local [tulad] dine sa Malolos," Phillip Caluag, the current chairman on administrative region of Alpha Phi Omega in Region 3 and an alumni of the association stated.
In addition, Caluag also said that one of their main objectives are to make the students interested and aware of all the social issues happening in their surroundings.
"Dapat lalong mas aware ang mga batang nag-aaral sa kolehiyo kasi... paglabas niyo [ng kolehiyo], ayan agad ang makakasalubong ninyo. Lalo na kapag nasa trabaho na kayo, 'yung mga issues sa sweldo, mga issues sa transportation..." the alumni said.
Moreover, the ritual ended at Federizo Hall's Apo Tree with numerous BulSUans flocked together to witness the said event.—OVERTURN
