Dr. Makis Magaling, the exhibit’s initiator explained that a collaborative exhibit of this scale accustomed to her, as years ago she was involved with another conjoined work titled PintaTula in 2014. From there, this kind of gathering happens often.

“‘Yung sining, ito yung pinakamataas na antas ng pagpapakatao.” Dr. Magaling emphasized that through art is where humans achieve their humanity. She then asked the participants if they are willing to have another collaboration through publishing their works on the exhibit in Arts Month in February 2024.

Meanwhile Patlang’s Editor-in-Chief CM Cruz and Fine Arts 1-C Class Mayor Jan Esred Hernandez expressed their gratitude to the visitors and officially opened the exhibit by the end of their speech.

In an interview with Patlang’s EIC, Cruz explained that the purpose of the event is not just a joint effort between Malikhaing Pagsulat and Fine Arts students, but to also showcase their talents and to express themselves through their artworks.

“Kung ano man ‘yung mga bagay na, they've been through, ‘wag silang matakot na i-express ‘yon. Hindi naman niya kinakailangan na sabihin mo siya nang direkta, you can use your own art to express your feelings.” Cruz further elaborated the message that they wish the visitors will obtain from their exhibit.
